VIDEO: Spokane Complex Fire-Air 1, Air 2 and BodyCam Footage

This video is made up of clips from Spokane County Sheriff’s Office/Spokane Valley Police Deputies’ bodycam footage as they conducted house-to-house evacuations.  

This includes working with citizens/neighbors to open an access route for people to exit a housing development, the evacuation of a man and his frightened dog, urging a couple to quickly evacuate as the fire was just homes away, assisting a person evacuate by opening a garage door since the power was out, and working with another homeowner quickly load some property with the fire was only two houses away and rapidly approaching.    

These are only a few clips of many that show not only what Deputies did during the evacuation, but also that people evacuating, under extreme stress and anxiety, remained calm and polite, even taking the time to tell Deputies to be safe.  Spokane County is truly a great community!

Also included are Air 1 and Air 2 videos, both regular camera and infrared camera views, that show the unrelenting, wind-driven fires and the devastation they caused.  The Spokane Regional Air Support Unit (SRASU) flew several flights like this in support of the Command Post while keeping Deputies/Officers/Firefighters safe by providing real-time information.
